Members of Cargo Composites™ Sales Team Attend Inter Airport Europe

Cargo Composites™ exhibited at Inter Airport Europe in Munich earlier this month.  Several members of the sales and support teams attended the expo, meeting prospective customers, greeting existing customers, demonstrating the latest air cargo technology, and answering questions about the company and products.

The star of the show was the LD 345 AKH.  This ULD features Cargo Composites™’ signature combination of durability and light weight, providing optimal performance and longevity.  As with other ULDs in the Cargo Composites™ product suite, the AKH has the lowest total cost of ownership with the industry’s lowest repair rates and the industry’s best warranty.  Learn more about the AKH by clicking here.

Also on display was the newest product from Cargo Composites™, the aeroTHERM® – the industry’s only thermally insulated ULD.  The aeroTHERM® insulates 25 times better than standard ULDs, protecting perishables such as produce and flowers. Learn more about the aeroTHERM® by clicking here.

Cargo Composites™ Partners with Boeing to Deliver Insulated ULDs to Air New Zealand

Cargo Composites™ partnered with Boeing to deliver a state-of-the-art composite aircraft with composite ULDs, all made in Charleston, to Air New Zealand.  The Boeing 787 departed Charleston on October 6 for Auckland, New Zealand with Cargo Composites’™ newest container, an insulated ULD for transporting perishables via air cargo, called the aeroTHERM® .  To date, Air New Zealand has purchased over 400 of the aeroTHERM® units.

The aeroTHERM® ULD makes shipping perishables more affordable by taking advantage of Cargo Composites’™ patented and proprietary design. There is no need for power or for a cooling system – the aeroTHERM® ‘s internal compartment is designed to withstand external temperatures.  The insulated ULD helps protect contents from extreme temperatures experienced on the tarmac waiting for loading, when a standard ULD’s internal temperature can quickly exceed 120F or fall well below 0F.
Tom Pherson, President of Cargo Composites™, states, “We are thrilled to provide the aeroTHERM® units to Air New Zealand and to partner with the local Boeing facility to deliver the composite insulated ULDs on another locally made composite product, the 787. This is another great example of how South Carolina’s aerospace industry is thriving with activity around the world.”
Cargo Composites™ is an important part of the state’s aerospace cluster, comprising more than 400 companies and delivering more than $19B in economic impact. Cargo Composites™ has customers all over the world and leads the air cargo industry with innovation.
Cargo Composites™ has a number of other industry-leading innovations that are currently being field tested. The company is expecting continued and rapid expansion over the next several years.
